A Happy MTA Story
I’m on my way to queens even when it’s snowing lots and lots outside. I thought it was going to take a while because the MTA has become unbelievely unreliable. I had to take four trains to get to Elmhurst, but it went so smoothly. The A came within two minutes of me standing on the platform. When I got off at 59th the B was coming in and I was able to take it one stop to 7th ave where...

L'invitation au voyage
Poetry sounds so much better in French than in English. After reading some today it felt like I was indulging in the words. I could almost completely understand the nature of the poem just by saying the words aloud. Here’s a poem thought that sounds good in French and has such a good meaning. Written by Charles Baudelaire: Mon enfant, ma soeur, Songe à la douceur D’aller là-bas...

Leather coats, bags, and paintings?
Mark Evans is a new artists who took a knife in his hand and started etching images on canvases made out of leather hides. Can there be something like a “designer” painting? Are people going to be asking for paintings made out of “real” leather. Yikes.

XVII (I do not love you…) by Pablo Neruda  I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from...

It starts in the arms then creeps and creeps and slants this way and that making your eyelids droop and your limbs carefree. And it’s all good until your body is stretched and exposed to the monster that tumbles inside and rushes out leaving you drained and bewildered.

Looks like I haven’t posted two photo of the days so I’m already falling behind. I dont think I’ve been taking such great photos lately either, which doesn’t help the fact that I’m taking photography 2 this semester and my teacher is intense. I’ll update tomorrow, i promise? P.S. SUPERBOWL SAINTS! fun game to watch and playing mario kart battle on n64 after...

Life Reminder #2
Sometimes the best nights are the chill ones with close friends — Like eating weird combinations of food, playing video games, watching yucky online clips, and playing soccer in the street when its freezing.

Life Reminder #1
When on the subway, in a public restroom, waiting on the grocery line, basically anywhere … there’s always those times when you make eye contact with someone. Yes we all glance at each other from time to time, but then theres the awkward point of eye contact. Look away quickly is the first natural response. BUT never look back right away because that’s just calling for double...
